US-based retail chain Nordstrom is partnering with North America-based private firm Cadillac Fairview, to make foray into Canadian retail market.
The deal will result in the opening of four full-line stores at shopping centers in various parts of Canada including Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver.
The Calgary store, which will be located at Chinook Centre, is expected to occupy 140,000ft? of floor space over two floors and is scheduled to open in fall of 2014, while the Ottawa store will be located at Rideau Centre and occupy 157, 000ft? of floor space over two levels.
The Vancouver store will be opened in Pacific Centre and the Toronto store will be located in Sherway Gardens.
As part of the Canadian expansion, the company has also firmed up plans to open additional full-line stores as well as Nordstrom Racks, its off-price retail division.
Founded in 1901, Nordstrom is a specialty retailer and currently operates 234 stores in 31 states, including 117 full-line stores, 113 Nordstrom Racks, two Jeffrey boutiques, one treasure & bond store and one clearance store.
